Tapatan is a free online version of the Filipino board game. This page explains what information the game keeps and why. We keep as little as we can.

Playing without an account

Games against the computer and games with a friend on the same device happen only in your browser. Nothing about them is sent to us. Your settings (sound, difficulty, time) are saved in your own browser.

Online play (Ranked and friend links)

The first time you play online, the game creates a guest player for you. We store:

Your name, photo, bio, ratings, statistics and match history are public: other players can see them on your profile and on the leaderboard.

Sign in with Google

If you sign in with Google, Google tells us a permanent account number for your Google account. We use it only to recognize you on other devices. We do not store your email address, your Google name or your Google photo, and we cannot access anything else in your Google account.

What we don't do

Where it's stored

Tapatan runs on Cloudflare's servers, which store the information above. Google provides the sign-in service.

Deleting your information

Open Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your name, bio, photo, ratings and sign-in link. Games you already played stay in your opponents' history, shown as "Deleted player". A guest player that is never used again may be removed automatically.

Children

Tapatan is a family-friendly board game. Names, bios and photos must be appropriate; we may remove ones that aren't.

Terms

The rules for playing are in the Terms.
